LEO satellites

LEO

The ‘classic’ computing and communication technologies have made a lot of progress in recent decades through traditional architectures, such as increasingly faster CPUs. This is predicted by the well known Moore’s Law. The new generation of these technologies will use a new architecture.

Will this new architecture become: the internet from space? Low earth orbit (LEO) satellites can provide internet worldwide. These satellites will enable an internet connection for 50% of the world that does not yet have it. For example, Elon Musk is working on it with Starlink, but also the Dutch company Hiber. The technology is still in its infancy, but in the coming years it will have an enormous (social and commercial impact) and new opportunities for IoT applications.
