Vodafone switches off 3G for good

Vodafone will permanently shut down the 3G network in February 2020. This opens up more capacity for the faster and more stable 4G network. One of the reasons is the rapidly increasing data consumption on the 4G network. Vodafone will stop now and KPN stops in 2022. 3G will not disappear all at once, but little by little this network will be phased out and completely replaced with 4G and later also 5G.

Thingsdata advises on the phasing out of the 3G network and, at a later stage, the 2G network and what influence this has on the IoT strategy and the M2M subscriptions.
