Introducing: Michael Houtsma, who started as a new board member at Thingsdata in the position of Strategy & Execution Director.
Michael started at Thingsdata on February 1, with the aim of focusing on the growth and expansion of the organization. Thingsdata has grown very fast in the past five years and we hope to continue this growth by having extra focus on the important strategic choices we have to make in the near future.
Thingsdata wants to develop further in the coming years as a leading IoT system integrator for both the Dutch and the international market. Michael has been very interested in IoT for a long time and fascinated about the possibilities it has to change organizations (business models). During his master’s degree at Nyenrode Business University, he conducted several studies into the applicability of IoT and the transformation that organizations are going through. After his studies, Michael worked at Atos in the position of sales manager, where he was responsible for all IoT sales processes within the Northern Europe region. After 4 years, the Atos chapter has closed for Michael and he wants to focus his career on organizational growth strategies and policy making. The match between Thingsdata and Michael was therefore quickly made.

Thingsdata was founded in 2015 and has grown very fast in the last two years due to the further professionalization of the IoT field and the increasing demand from the market. With Thingsdata as a partner, organizations can break free from traditional business models or processes and modernize by deploying innovative IoT technologies. The basis at Thingsdata is formed by offering continuity and guarantees with IoT connectivity forms such as M2M, LTE M, NB-IoT and LoRa. This involves intensive collaboration with a dynamic and innovative partner ecosystem.
Michael: “In the coming period I will focus on Thingsdata’s product & service portfolio, business development and the possibilities for international expansion. On the other hand, I will immediately start further analyzing the market and accompany my colleagues to prospects and customers from both the direct and indirect sales channel.
