Teltonika expands its product range with two new routers

Thingsdata has been supplying Teltonika routers and gateways alongside our own connectivity solutions for many years. Two new models have now been added to the range, each designed for a very different type of application. The RUT286 is built for demanding industrial environments, while the RUT261 is intended for projects where compact dimensions and cost efficiency are the main priorities.

RUT286: Reliable Connectivity in Demanding Environments

The RUT286 uses a Telit modem, allowing it to fall back to an older mobile network when 4G connectivity is unavailable. This is particularly useful when your equipment is installed in an area where reliable coverage cannot be taken for granted. For industrial installations, the router includes RS232 and RS485 interfaces, with direct support for Modbus, DNP3 and DLMS. When these protocols are already used within your installation, the router can be integrated without requiring additional hardware or complex configuration.

Its wide input voltage range of 9 to 57 VDC and support for both active and passive PoE, or Power over Ethernet, make the RUT286 suitable for a broad range of applications. It offers the familiar capabilities of the Teltonika RUT series, combined with greater flexibility for different networks, installations and industrial protocols.

RUT261: Compact, Fast and Cost-Effective

The RUT261 is a compact LTE Cat 6 router designed for situations where installation space and budget are limited. Its small housing makes it easy to integrate into embedded systems and compact installations, while its two Ethernet ports provide both LAN and WAN connectivity. The router does not include unnecessary additional functions, which is precisely where its value lies. It provides fast and reliable connectivity in a simple and cost-effective package.

The RUT261 is also certified according to RCM and E-Mark standards. RCM certification enables deployments in Australia and New Zealand, while E-Mark confirms that the router meets European electromagnetic compatibility requirements for use in vehicles. For companies operating internationally or working within the automotive sector, these certifications can reduce the need for separate certification processes for each individual project.
