We are proud to announce that Thingsdata is officially certified for both ISO 27001 and ISO 9001. Both certificates were assessed and issued by DEKRA, an independent certification body. For our team, this is the result of months of hard work, on top of everything that simply kept going. For our customers, it is something concrete: independent proof that quality and information security at Thingsdata are not just words on paper, but demonstrably assured.

Why ISO certification matters for IoT

In an IoT environment, devices communicate continuously. Data flows across multiple networks, SIM cards are managed remotely, and operational processes depend directly on the reliability of the underlying connectivity. That places real demands on the organisations that provide that connectivity.

A supplier can claim that processes are in order and that information security is well managed. ISO certification makes that demonstrable. Not based on their own claims, but on an audit conducted by an independent certification body.

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management. Certification means that processes are demonstrably controlled, documented, and continuously improved. At Thingsdata, this applies across the full breadth of our services: from SIM activation and order management to configuration changes and support. Every step is structured around consistent quality.

When something goes wrong, there is a process to identify the cause and prevent it from recurring. When a process can be improved, there is a structure to do that systematically.

The certification is not a one-time exercise. It is reaffirmed annually through surveillance audits by DEKRA. That makes it an ongoing standard, not a snapshot.

What is ISO 27001?

ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security. Certification demonstrates that Thingsdata has implemented an Information Security Management System (ISMS) that meets stringent international requirements. That means demonstrable policy covering access management, risk control, incident response, and data classification.

This is not a checklist ticked once and filed away. An ISMS requires a structural approach: risks are identified, controls implemented, and their effectiveness continuously assessed.

For IoT deployments, this is particularly relevant. Connected devices depend on reliable and secure connectivity. SIM cards are managed remotely, connections are monitored, and connectivity data plays an important role in the day-to-day management of IoT solutions. The assurance that these processes and data are handled carefully and securely is not a nice-to-have. It is a prerequisite.
