Interview with Denis Kapin

Can you describe the world of IoT connectivity?

Internet has become the irreplaceable aspect of our personal lifes, not only as a source of entertainment and personal usage, but also a means of remote operation of millions and millions of various machines and devices across the globe, and at this point there is no visible end to the development of use cases that would require permanent access to data. Which from my personal view is great for our industry and business, since we as professionals get to develop and learn new skills daily, while at the same time benefitting from being in this IoT game.

Describe the way of doing business with Thingsdata?

It is straightforward, simple, and transparent. We are young, enthusiastic and love what we do. Every business case is unique and is approached on a case-to-case basis. It’s already proven that the customers who use/used bigger rivals, have acknowledged the fact that using Thingsdata is great for their business, as we put people first.

What does the future look like for you?

This only God can tell, myself I live in the present moment, taking it one step at a time, being the best version of myself in professional and personal stages. My goal is reaching top management position CRO (Chief Revenue Officer).

Where do you see the most career growth in the next few years?

I see huge steps in AI and cybernetics, as logically this seem like the next steps in the development of humans to automatize more and more tasks that can be done without the use people. As my career goes, I learn more and more about new use cases and ways to apply IoT, and it leads me to believe that technologically we are advancing very quickly, but on the other hand we are losing a human touch and becoming automatized ourselves

What do you find interesting about the IoT market and what inspires you the most

I enjoy multitude of cases and opportunity to talk with people from different professional backgrounds, like transportation, agriculture, healthcare, sports, etc. Each interaction gives me more knowledge about the world we live in and technologies that make it happen.

What innovations or trends are you currently following and why?

I wouldn’t say I follow the innovations or trends. I guess it’s part of the profession to stay informed about things and technologies that I must deal with. In some of the cases I even learn something new by talking to prospects and the tell me wonderful things they do with the technology innovation that require to heavily rely on IoT. Also attending expo’s give a lot of insight into the coming trends in markets and technologies.
